You are not alone.
Many people feel anxiety, depression, or a sense of unfamiliarity with their bodies after procedures — sometimes because something foreign has been placed inside them, sometimes simply because life feels more fragile. If you’re here because you’re experiencing anxiety or depression after a cardiac event, you are not alone!
- 20–40% of patients report depression after heart surgery.
- Up to 50% experience significant anxiety following stents, bypass, or other cardiac procedures.
These feelings aren’t just “in your head” — they can slow recovery and affect long-term outcomes. The good news is that research shows guided meditation, hypnosis, and subconscious visualization can:
- Lower anxiety and depression
- Improve sleep and heart-rate regulation
- Support faster, more complete recovery
- Help the body feel safe and integrated again after change
At HeartSpace Medical Meditation, we combine 15 years of clinical healthcare experience with science-based subconscious methods to support the whole recovery process — not just the procedure itself.
Why HeartSpace?
Hi, I'm Lauren Feist, and I'm so happy you are here. For more than 15 years, I’ve walked alongside patients and families during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives — from the anxiety before a major procedure to the often-overlooked emotional landscape that follows. As a speech-language pathologist and healthcare administrator, I’ve spent my career inside hospitals and rehabilitation settings, helping people rebuild their lives after illness and surgery.
Over the years, I saw a pattern again and again: the medical intervention was only part of the story. Even when the heart was repaired and the procedure was a success, many people continued to struggle with deep anxiety, depression, and a sense that their body had changed in ways they couldn’t quite integrate. Some described an unsettling awareness of something foreign inside them — a stent, a pacemaker, a new vulnerability. Others simply felt their bodies no longer belonged to them.
I understood this not just professionally but personally. Someone I love deeply experienced profound medical anxiety after a cardiac procedure, and I watched as traditional reassurance wasn’t enough. What ultimately created real peace and healing was subconscious work — guided visualization and hypnotic language that helped the body feel safe again, not just know it.
I also experienced that transformation in my own life. Through visualization and subconscious meditation practices, I learned how powerful it is to speak to the subconsious in its own language — a language made of images, sensations, and stories rather than logic and facts.
I created HeartSpace Medical Meditation to bridge that gap between medicine and meaning. My approach blends clinical expertise with the art of subconscious communication, helping people heal the inner layers of recovery that medicine alone can’t reach. Whether you’re integrating a stent, navigating pre or post-procedure anxiety, or learning to trust your body again, my mission is to guide you gently back to a sense of safety, wholeness, and home within yourself.
Because healing the heart is about more than what happens in the operating room — it’s about helping the body believe it is safe, supported, and ready to live fully again.
